Touchy Coffee
Touchy Coffee is a coffee-roasting company based in Troy, New York. Their brand is characterized by lighthearted, vibrant marketing that breathes life into each of their products. I began working as their Business Development Director in early 2022, handling all copywriting, overall growth efforts, and administrative efficiency.

One of our favorite projects each year is FRUITCAKE — a seasonally inspired, lovingly sourced, and adorably branded coffee to get into the HOLIDAY SPIRIT that comes along with winter in the northeast. This year’s model is a fittingly resplendent star amidst this fall’s decorated branches of coffees from Ethiopia. With a nose red enough to win ALL of the Reindeer games and sips full of ripe, spicy stone fruit, this natural process stunner from Reshad Ababgulgu sends a festively botanical aura of affection wafting through the air.
Tasting notes of persimmon, pomegranate, citrus garland, mulled wine, and mistletoe!
Instant Gratification
"With great coffee comes great responsibility,” they said. And to that, WE said — OK but what if you could just add water instead? Next thing you know—BOOM—we’ve got absolutely delightful coffee that’s been brewed, freeze-dried, and portioned into single servings ready to be sipped in an instant! Just add ~8oz of water (hot OR cold), stir it up real good, and enjoy. If you’re feeling especially fancy, you can even just 3oz of water to make a knockout faux-spresso.
Whether on a camping trip, at a hotel, visiting in-laws, caught in a power outage, or simply lacking the energy to go through the traditional routine, instant is here to save the day.

Ethiopia Ayele Tulu Hype Post
SOLAR FLAIR ☀️☀️☀️
Yeah, this one’s got it. That inimitable sunny day swagger, that crisp cocktail slickness, that flowery citrusy super-saturated sweetness that just can’t be faked: WASHED ETHIOPIA. At it again, and resplendent as ever 🌺🍹🍊
Ayele Tulu got into coffee after retiring from 45 years of governmental service. Returning to his family stomping grounds of Bona Zuria, Sidama, he set up his own washing station, where he processes coffee from ~300 smallholder farmers nearby. With the goal of passing the reins off to his children in the future, two of them are already involved in running the operation, and if this particular selection is indicative of their status quo, then holy cow 😳😳
Perhaps our reddest orangest coffee of the year so far (one in a vermilion?), this one is not to be missed ❤️
MY OH MY HOW TIME DOES FLY!!! ⏰ 🪰
That’s right — sources have confirmed that 2023 is juuuust about OVER. Big picture? Not the best year 🫠 TC picture? A rollercoaster of emotions with some truly gorgeous highs to balance out the tough stuff in between🎢 ❤️
But what will we remember MOST fondly??? Objectively it’s too soon to know, but swipe to slide 2 for some of the contenders 🥹🥹🥹

⭐️ GOOD THINGS COME TO THOSE WHO PRE-ORDER ⭐️
Listen... it's not just lists that get checked twice, it's also next-level swag. And this year, let's just say they're checkin' it a few extra times, so regrettably we will not have these mugs IRL before the official start of holiday shopping season. BUT WE KNOW YOU WANT MUGS, so we're putting these online for pre-orders — and giving early birds a bonus TC magnet as well 🐣
Stock up now, save yourself some headaches when UH OH HOW IS IT DECEMBER 21ST happens 🤪
🚨 NO DULL MOMENTS 🚨
Pretty in pink sticker, natural process, Baby Pacamara variety. We know what you’re thinking — is this one just a novelty? So let’s CLEAR THIS UP right away: NO.
Luis Alberto Balladarez is the biggest name in Nicaraguan coffee, with a tremendous range of offerings each year. He is respected not only among importers and roasters worldwide but, perhaps most importantly, among farmers throughout Nicaragua.
“A Gift from God” farm boasts 52 hectares and nearly as many varieties. Our importing pals at @thecoffeequestus describe the surrounding micro-climate as a “clouded forest” <3 that keeps temps cool and stable, making the landscape unusually amenable to both natural and honey processes.
AND SO, this Pacamara is nothing short of palatial, with glowing ephemeral energy that reminds us of regal fictional architecture (Howl’s Moving Castle? The Sultan’s Palace? Hogwarts? Minas Tirith?), but unlike all of these places, this coffee is real, and our bold recommendation is that you let yourself get lost in it.
"Less is more" is a cute old-fashioned phrase that makes absolutely no sense to drinkers of Touchy Coffee. ☕️☕️☕️ So in our ongoing effort to fight this fallacy, we offer most of our coffees in 2 lb bags, for when 12oz just won't cut it.
But the quandaries don't stop there. WHAT GOOD IS MORE COFFEE IF HALF THE BEANS SPILL ON THE COUNTER?! 🤨 We hear you. Thus the esteemed team of TC Engineers presents you with this solution — A BAG CLIP. Now coming with all online orders of 2#'rs, this clip keeps beans where they belong while also conveying an important sentiment about where your household's loyalties lie.
Early trials suggest this clip will also work on bags of chips, but we generally suggest finishing those in one sitting, so we cannot confirm.

Lazara Perez’s coffee evokes a little EXTRA sentimental value for us, since hers was one of the first lots that we purchased in its entirety, way back in 2019. We always look forward to bringing her back, and this year we’re psyched to be featuring her not only on our winter coffee menu, but also for this spring’s fresh run of cold cans.
We felt that this year’s model lived up to such glamorous double duty thanks to its bright and tangy citrus core, reinforced by a slushy creamy mouthfeel and butterscotch sweetness. Call us PREDICTABLE, but we just can’t resist these VITAMIN C vibes in the winter. As they say – the only thing better than FRESH FRUIT in the morning is coffee that just sorta REMINDS YOU of fresh fruit that maybe you FORGOT TO BUY on your last trip to the grocery store but obv you’d NEVER forget to make coffee in the morning so this will have to be GOOD ENOUGH.
Like we were saying: Lazara farms two parcels in Chanjon, Huehuetenango, yielding a field blend containing Caturra, Catuai, and Pache Rojo varieties. She works with the ASDEFLOR co-op (the Jeronimo cousins and Agapito Lopez are both members of this co-op also) for processing, where the coffee undergoes a slow and low (temperature) fermentation before being dried on raised beds and finished on patios. Season after season, we continue to be enamored with the coffees that come out of this cooperative, and we’re incredibly proud to have longstanding relationships with several of its producers.

Our canned iced coffee is tasty straight from the can, poured over ice, topped with milk, or however your heart desires, whenever your heart desires it!
This peachy-keen coffee from Irene Sanchez brings juicy fruits and honeyed sweetness together in crisp, refreshing harmony. Featuring a local Oaxacan variety called “Typica Pluma de Hidalgo,” this one hits like sunshine off shades — cool, confident, and classy.
Brewed hot and chilled in seconds thanks to our partners at Snapchill ™, we can now present perfectly refreshing cold coffee without any additives, dilution, or oxidation, ready to be tossed into a cooler, backpack, or just pressed against the forehead for immediate cooldown.
